Now, I have to thank Nigel Skeet for inviting me to support our community and lift our beautiful city up.  He invited myself and Jeremy Robinson, who bought TA Schmidt’s portrait studio to collaborate with this great event that is featured over at I Love Redding‘s website.  It was really neat to watch the community, especially the children interact with our hero firefighters.  The expressions of pure happiness and excitement on their little faces, were so adorable.  Also, it was great getting to see Nigel work with the Redding firefighters to create another one of his amazing panoramic images.  I got a few shots of him in action too!

We can not forget all the amazing people who took time to make this appreciation day a success like US Lending Company, Shasta Regional Community Foundation, Redding Bank of Commerce, CR Gibbs American Grille, Signarama, Shasta Regional Medical Center, Q97, Cronic Disaster Services, KShasta, and the Redding Fire Department. I also saw Francie Sullivan, who is always out supporting our town, it really does take a village to build our community, and I am thankful for all the people involved.  Redding is a treasured town and getting to know our neighbors will help us keep this city in check!

Below are some of my favorite images I took from the sidelines.  There are many more images located at this LINK, so be sure to check it out to see what the day was like.  P.S. the image of the firefighters standing with flag in the sky was taken by Nigel Skeet.  I still added it here, because I really liked his shot.

Thank you again for taking the time to come out and tell our Redding Fire Department what a value they are to each one of us in Redding.

xoxo,

Jamie Solorio

Thank you so much Michale, Jaye Jaye, Bishop and Carter for letting me take your portraits last week.  Really loved how the shoot was style along side the industrial look of Gerlinger Steel of Redding, CA.  I was sure to ask permission before shooting on Gerlinger’s property and was thankful when told I could, as long as no employees were working.  Our shoot happened to be on a Saturday, so we were in luck!

Also, thank you to my assistants for the day, Layne and Kya.  Kya was asked to created a little promo video, which I really loved.  Layne was out there in the heat reflecting, and scriming away.  It is nice to work with a team, makes it so much easier for me and better for my clients completed images.

Jaye Jaye, thank you for being so sweet and gotta say….those eyes!  Stunning!  Loved your Gucci sunglasses by the way, even though they covered those eyes!   That adorable black dainty dress that was paired perfectly with your Doc Martins…a girl after my heart! Love Love Love combat boots!  I have been wearing my Sutro boots for 3 years solid now and love the worn in feel!  Also, all of your boys are VERY handsome and made the shoot a lot of fun to capture.  The connection between you and your hubby is unreal.  Loved the way you both looked at one another.  I also loved that you both were down to play out the ‘slide down the body’ scene from Dirty Dancing!  Hope you enjoy your family pictures.

Jamie

The love between these two is so strong, they can not keep their eyes off of one another.  And those vows, I teared up even.  Like I said, “True Love Celebrated.”  Thank you so very much Garrett and Christine for allowing me to document your forest wedding in the Trinity Alps at Garrett’s childhood home, Almay Ranch.  Your family and friends are just as nice as the both of you, not to mention very stylish.

Jamie

On a different note for my future brides, this wedding was 3 hour coverage with the help of my assistant Amy.  Thank you Amy for tagging along for the day, you were such an asset.

Oh, sorry about the over abundance of images, it was difficult not to post my favorites.  There are more too…yikes.  Be sure to click the Read More below please.

So, I recently learned about National Grandparents Day, which is every Sunday after Labor Day.  This year, National Grandparents Day will be on September 10th, 2017.  The idea behind this special day is to create time for grandparents and/or older adults share their sage advice with our youth.  While, their littles are asked to serve or do something really special for their grandparents.  A win win situation, if I do say so myself. An added bonus too, there is actual science based statistics with regard to grandparents enjoying time with their grandchildren, and how this can help with lowering the risk for Alzheimer’s.

Having said all of that above, please take a look at THIS super sweet family portrait shoot I did with Rob, Liz, and Avery.  Rob and Liz had invited their parents along to get some adorable shots with their little angel, Avery.  I thought this was such a gorgeous shoot, had to share it again.  I do feel these images of Avery with her grandparent’s will be treasured for many years.  Personally, I have an image of my Grandpa McCarthy holding me when I was just five days old.  This image two of us together and is especially cherished by me.  So, glad that someone took it.  I took a shot with my cell phone and placed at the bottom of this post.

Each Sunday we spend over at my in-laws and this Sunday I am bringing my camera.  The relationship my girls share with their Nonnie and Papa is so special.  I am thinking I will take the portrait while they are doing something they enjoy together, so that they can look back and remember that particular memory.  My youngest loves to play with her stuffed animals with Papa, so thinking this is a must have image.  Kya, my oldest, she and Nonnie like to pamper each other with facial masks and manicures, which would be a fun photograph for the two of them to share.

Below I have added some of my favorite portraits of grandparents with their beautiful grandchildren.  The love shared is so special and I am glad I was able to capture these moments together for them.  The top image might be my favorite and is so sweet, this little girl was about to leave the country, and you can just feel the love in that hug.  Really, they are all pretty darn cute. Real emotion…which is what I love to capture.

Have anything special planned for your grandparents?  Schedule your shoot with or for the special grandparents in your child’s life

My Grandpa McCarthy.  As I am writing this I am actually tearing up again seeing that smile of his.  I miss him so much. Thank you so much Mom for taking this portrait.

Each year I am fortunate to have a few seniors make the long journey from Alturas, CA to Redding, CA for their senior portraits!  Haley, Kim, and Charlie thank you so much for making the trip!  Also, thank you for letting us do the shoot on Friday instead of Sunday as we had originally planned.  It worked really well, considering I was up with friends all night for my good friend, CJ’s 40th birthday party. lol.

Anyhow, Haley…you remind me so much of my sister, must be the hair and hippie vibe you had going on.  Loved your look and your super sweet personality.  Kya and I both enjoyed our time out in the fields with your girlies!

Love the pink lace romper you picked up the day of the shoot over at PacSun!  So stinking cute!  I want it! lol!  Also, loved that you had several outfits to choose from!  Something I am noticing too, thought I would point out if anybody is reading this!  People who book for meadow shoots don’t really need to worry too much about shoes.  Most of the time your feet are hidden by the tall weeds.  Best bet would be to bring a pair of boots for the dry grasses!  However, a cute pair of shoes could be brought and we can shoot in a flattened spot of weeds.

Oh, last shot was shot by Kya Solorio!  I through her into shooting after the shoot had ended.  Just set the exposure for her and asked her to create a image.  She did great, one of my faves of the day.

Wish you the very best during your last year of high school!

Jamie

So, I am seriously behind on featuring this family, like maybe close to a year behind!  I am so sorry Staci!  I was looking through old files and saw this and checked, and sure enough…not blogged.  I am beyond sorry.

I now am so curious what your little man looks like these days!  His eyes, those perfect wide eyes, I am sure he is a handsome little guy.

Anyhow, thank you so much for allowing me to take your family portraits about a year ago in Brandon and Jennifer’s meadow.  Your family was very sweet and gentle.

Just a sneak of a boudoir session I shot last week.  There were so many gorgeous images, this girl had curves for days and not to mention the most beautiful hair! Thank you mystery boudoir client for allowing me to post this one and possibly some more at a later date! Excited to share!

This piece of lingerie she was wearing is one I happen to have in the boudoir studio that can be used by my clients!  It was purchased over at Yandy, in a size small.  Currently I am working on building my lingerie inventory so that I have extra options for my girls!  Plus, having lingerie strewn about all over the studio is sexy and makes for a great set!  Speaking of sets, I hope to be building a new set tonight with my hubby!  It will be involving magazine tear outs of inspirational images, that way I can have inspiration at every corner of my room and a new sexy set!  That is the deal in here, each item in the boudoir studio has to serve two purposes to be allowed inside, due to limited space!

Thank you as always Nikki Gibson for doing this particular clients hair and makeup, you always do such a wonderful job…seriously!  Very grateful for you!

If you would like more information about booking a boudoir session with me, please take a looksie at my boudoir site.  I have answered most all of the questions I can think of, and if you have one not covered there, please let me know!  This way I can add it to the site!

xoxo,

Jamie
