Okay, really this is my favorite of the year so far.  So many reasons why, and I have some time right now to share!

To begin, I love where we live, we are so lucky to have such beauty all around us all the time.  Now, that I have said this…I do want to mention that I am going to begin going to the City Council Meetings starting ASAP.  I would like to protect what we have here, lately the creeper status has been off the charts!  I feel like it is time for the residents of Redding, CA and surrounding areas to get involved.

blog in progress.

Oh my goodness, seriously perfect little angel.  This meadow is a new discovery, and I am thrilled to show these cute little images off!  Thank you so much Nick and Marisa for letting me take pictures of little Ava.  Love the custom head pieces?  Check out Heavenly Avonlee Couture to get your own.  This is such a fun age to photograph, especially in a field like this.

How cute is her little concentration tongue! lol!  The little things that we sometimes forget as our children grow up, which is why pictures…any pictures are so wonderful.  Must freeze that moment in time to treasure and look back on forever.

I do own two of these dresses and all the hair pieces if you decide you would like to create something like this with your little one. Of course, you could also have Cambria the artist who makes these bands create a one of a kind just for you too.

Oh, how I miss spring already!

xoxo,

Jamie

Kendra, OMG, so stinking cute!  Eisla is beyond adorable, those eyes…those perfect lips!  Gorgeous!  Thank you for playing a little dress up in the studio the other day for her first birthday!  Great job bringing all the cute outfits!  They looked so great with Heavenly Avonlee’s headpieces on her!  Also, we have to mention little Mr. Easton, what a cutie and such a sweet child.  Really enjoyed having him in the studio as well for some portraits really fast.  He even allowed us to put on one of Gold Coast Goods adorable little man ties!  These are the little details I feel that make the styling that much more perfect!  Also, in the background I did use some of Dark Pony Designs tulle skirts as the backdrop.  Thank you to all the other creatives who have let me use their creations in the studio!

Can’t wait for our Fall session together in a meadow with more room to run! lol!  Though, I think it went pretty well in the studio…just they kept us on our toes, which is good! lol!

Such a gorgeous family, and the color coordination for their outfits were spot on!  Nice work Michelle!  Thank you Jim and Michelle for allowing me to take your family portraits near the Turtle Bay Arboretum in Redding, CA.  We were the very last people to get to play in the tall grasses before the McConnel Foundation mowed it down for the summer.  Loved all your images!  Here are the ones you selected to hang on your walls at home.

Thank you so very much Reesha for making the trip from Junction City to allow me to take your maternity portraits in our gorgeous forest located in Whiskeytown National Recreation Area of California.  Also, loved the stunning wreath you purchased from Anderson Florist, a suggestion I made in another blog post some time back.  Have to say, these little touches do make all the difference in the world for your images.  The burgundy dress is one of mine that I bring for my maternity sessions, and it looked so beautiful on you, the wreath matched so perfectly.  However, I was in LOVE with your Free People white lace dress you purchased just for this shoot.  Free People happens to be one of my very favorite brands ever.  Your geometric tattoos also added such a great vibe to your images, so happy you were my subject for the evening!

We decided to do the forest, lake, and then a meadow with Reesha, her man Matthew and handsome son, Phoenix.  We stumbled upon a brand new meadow for me that had such a magical little clearing, perfect for the remainder of our shoot together.  Phoenix is such a loved little boy, it was so apparent as I took your pictures.  Those little in-between moments were the ones I liked the most.  Matthew, the love you show for you family really was so sweet to capture, they are so lucky.

Congratulations on your newest addition to soon be here!  I hope that your labor is calm and peaceful with your doula.

One of the most beautiful littles ever!  Thank you Katelyn for allowing me to take Stella’s birthday portraits!  Can’t believe she is already a toddler running around!  I can tell you and your family spend so much time with her and that she is very loved.  She already has such personality!

Those OshKosh overall’s are beyond stinking cute!  Loved getting to watch Stella run around the meadow and explore all the new spring flowers…soon to become stickery painful Star-thistle plants! lol!  Glad we got the nice soft side of them!

Want to see how Stella has changed over the last 2 years?  You can click HERE HERE HERE and HERE.  I have linked her newborn portraits, 3 months pictures, her first birthday meadow shoot, and her first birthday cake smash.  Which, that gorgeous pink dress from her first birthday was used again in this shoot below, we just made it look like a tutu. lol! 🙂  Waste not, want not.

Love the headbands?  Be sure to check out other work by Etsy artist Cambria over at Heavenly Avonlee Couture.

Jackson turns one and below are some images of maybe the most photogenic baby boy I have ever seen! lol!  Thank you so much Shannon, Andrew, Jackson’s grandma…which I am spacing your name right now…sorry, I tend to forget names…and to Jackson.  Seriously, Shannon and Andrew, your child is beyond cute!  I refer to him as the new Gerber baby whenever I mention his shoots to anyone.

Shannon, thank you for the extra details you brought to the shoot.  Loved the little tassels for the background and the tie.  This really opened my eyes to needing more boy props for my cake smashes!  So, I have gotten in touch with a talented local artist by the name of Jan Kearns, she and her daughter have created a boutique bowtie business by the name of Gold Coast Goods.  She and I have decided to work together and I will be able to use some of her super cute bowties, be sure to check out their site.  Not to mention, once I have those ties in my hands, I will will be getting little matching background tassels for future shoots.  So, thank you Shannon, I really appreciate you!

Want to see little Jackson grow up before your eyes?  Check out Shannon’s Maternity Session, Jackson’s Newborn Session, and 6 Month Baby Session.  It is always such an honor to be asked to take someones portraits again, I feel very lucky to get to do what I do.  Seeing someone grow right before my eyes and the love that is shared between one another.

Looking forward to our spring Family Portrait session in the purple flowers once they bloom!  Which I am setting a reminder right now to take a drive by there tomorrow!  I noticed in town that a lot of the white flowers are starting to bloom!!!!!

If you are interested in a Baby Cake Smash session like this, please contact me.  To view of my maternity work, please visit my blog category Maternity HERE.  To view other photography services I offer, please take a looksie HERE.  So excited we are finally having some sunlight!  I am so ready to enjoy the light again, I have been a bit of a vampire recently… 🙂

Oh my goodness, Courtney and Ryan…you guys have the best little family ever!  Love how free you guys are and willing to always try something new.  We started this years family portraits off waiting for not one boat, but two boats to show up to the Sacramento River.  We were hanging out over behind the rodeo grounds and decided to take a few portraits for fun.  Parker and Colton, you guys always are so awesome…not to mention..super cool, thank you!

You ask why two boats?  Well, Ryan and Courtney thought it would be cool to have their family on a boat and then Ryan’s brother, Chris row behind so I could capture them just doing something they love to share together.  Have to say, I am crazy afraid of big bodies of water…lol, but felt incredibly safe with Chris and Ryan.  Listening to them talk to each other as we drifted down the river was interesting.  They had their own ‘Boatman’s Language’ and I could tell they have spent some serious time together enjoying the gorgeous Sacramento River.  I did feel a little bad, the guys kept having to row to get the sun behind them, but I am guessing they did enjoy it too!

We also were able to find a little island to get out and do a little walk about.  It was really cool, and had an amazing view point of the Sundial Bridge.  However, there was a lot, I mean A LOT of goose gifts…so we had to be careful!

One of the last shots was of a big flock of birds hanging out and then flying away, and I was lucky enough to get that shot and then Colton’s expression…so cute.

Thank you again!

xoxo,

Jamie
