Thank you so much Garrett and Christine for allowing me to take your engagement portraits the other day, even thought it was crazy hot!  Within just a few minutes I was crazy sweating, I guess that is what happens in triple digits in Redding, CA. lol.  Anyhow, such love between the two of you, it was fun to capture!  Can’t wait to shoot your upcoming wedding!

Okay, really this is my favorite of the year so far.  So many reasons why, and I have some time right now to share!

To begin, I love where we live, we are so lucky to have such beauty all around us all the time, such as Whiskeytown.  Now, that I have said this…I do want to mention that I am going to begin going to the City Council Meetings starting ASAP.  I would like to protect what we have here in Northern California, lately the creeper status has been off the charts!  I personally feel like it is time for the residents of Redding, CA and surrounding areas to get involved.  It would be great if you happen to be a local and feel the same way, to join me.

Now, back to the family portrait shoot!

Amanda did such a wonderful job styling this shoot!  The clothing is spot on!  She even had to break out need and thread to create this perfect look!  She even paired her clothing with Dark Pony Designs jewelry.  There were so many great images from her session that I feel in love with that I had a difficult time choosing what to share on the portrait blog.  Another thing I so loved about this family session would be the love shared between their family, so much love!

Thank you so much Jake and Amanda for sticking with me after all these years!!!

xoxo,

Jamie

Oh my goodness, this field is beyond perfection.  Seriously, we walked back there and there were like 30 to 40 black butterflies just enjoying the sweet pollen of the star thistle plants.  I would say this meadow is my all time favorite now.  However, I think it was just a good year for it with all the rain we had!  I will have to go back next year around that time to see!!!!  You should of seen the kids enjoy the butterflies!  It was actually magical!

Thank you so much you guys for letting me take your portraits!  This was a special shoot since Krystal is a mother of two and happens to work for the company Dignity Health.  I have been fortunate enough to be allowed to work on a few of Dignity’s campaigns!  Including this one, their Mothers of Dignity Campaign for Mothers Day.  I haven’t shared much of this yet, just because I have been busy and not blogging!

With the Mothers Day Campaign image taken with Krystal and her two lovely children, we decided to take a few others for fun on our own, and that is what I am sharing below.  How could I not resist taking a few pictures with a gorgeous family in a magical butterfly filled meadow…just can’t!  It was so fun, thanks again West Family!

Also, a little update… currently I have a billboard up on East Cypress near the old Raley’s for Dignity Health’s Ortho department!  Both sides and it is huge!  Really, I should go take a picture of it, since it is a big deal for me…first billboard!  You can watch my little video over on IG if you want HERE to see it!

Anyhow, I am so extremely grateful for the amazing people in the marketing department over at Dignity who gave me a chance, and you guys know who you are! (Amy and Monique)  Really, this is getting me closer to my end goals with photography.  Not that I want to give up the portraits that I do weekly, which I do love.  Commercial and eventually fashion photography is where I would like to be in the future after my littles have left the nest!  So, thank you ladies and Dignity Health for helping another mother get to fulfill her dreams.  To see the image Dignity Health chose, please scroll to the bottom of this post!

Human Kindness. 🙂

Jamie

Thank you so very much Kyra and Matt for letting me take pictures of you guys and your adorable littles in one of my fave fields located in Redding, CA!  Love that you are so into photography and please please please ask anytime you have a question, I love to share what I have learned through trial and error!  I have to say, CreativeLive was a huge factor to help me succeed…you have to check them out, if you have not yet.  Also, your children were beyond sweet and sooooo very well behaved!  Which is awesome, I think you started some sort of trend…the family after you also had insanely good kids!  Good job parenting you two!  Oh, great job with outfits too!  I need to make a tutorial blog about your selects for styling this family portrait shoot!

Enjoy the awesome weather back home in San Diego!  Thank you again for choosing me!!!!!

Oh.My.Goodness.  Katelyn, I think she might need to go into baby modeling or something!  Stella is such a sweet little thing…always so happy and ready to explore.  Even if it means tasting some yucky flowers and keeping her mommy on her toes!  Speaking of mommy…Katelyn, you are such a loving, sweet, patient mother and it is so easy to see the great bond you and Stella share.  She is so fortunate to have you as her mother.  Enjoy this time with your precious daughter, you have already seen how fast a year can pass by!

Like Stella’s look?  The dress was purchased through an online boutique in Australia by the name of Dollcake.  Stella’s head piece and the pink tie around for her waste on two of the shots was created by Cambria of Heavenly Avonlee Couture of Etsy.  I love it when people go the extra mile, the images are just that much better!  Of course Stella could wear a paper bag and look fabulous!

Thought I would include a link to her newborn blog post!  Crazy how fast a year passes by!  If you want to see more of little Stella…just google Stella Jamie Solorio and you will see TONS of her portraits!  I am fortunate enough to get to see this little angel every 3 months this last year. Thank you so much Katelyn, Wayne, Brandi and Stella for letting me take her portraits during this first year!
