Marsha, thank you so much for allowing me to show off your 65 birthday boudoir portraits!  I am beyond excited to share!  Seriously, you are radiant an absolute beauty inside and out.  I enjoyed all of our conversation and feel like I am a better person for having met you.  Thank you also for sharing the quote, “If the photographer is interested in the people in front of her lens, and if she is compassionate, it’s already a lot. The instrument is not the camera but the photographer.”  You are so sweet to of shared this with me along with the Dutch!

Loved your images, so many to choose from.  I picked the more PG versions to share! 🙂  I think my fave shot might be of your bootie, when you were on the red vintage couch of mine in the studio.  That was 100% your pose and totally you!  Might be tied with the amber lit one of your face…so beautiful.  Your hair and makeup was created by the talented Niki Gibson.  She always does such a great job, just the right amount and sexy feel.

My goal with my boudoir sessions is to make a monthly trip to San Francisco and create these images in the city.  If you happen to not want to make the drive like Marsha did, please contact me to arrange for me to take a quick jaunt to the city.  Plus, I wouldn’t mind getting a gorgeous room and spending time with my husband in the Mission District!

If you are thinking you might want to do a boudoir session, but a little apprehensive…take a moment to check out my boudoir site, link below.  I spent a lot of time writing up all I could possibly think of that you would want to know.  Pretty much just thought how I would feel about taking these portraits myself and all the questions I would have related to boudoir pictures.

xoxo,

Jamie

Simply gorgeous, this is one of my recent boudoir portrait sessions taken in my studio.  However, I can only show two images, since this is a mystery boudoir person.  I am beyond thrilled she let me show these images.  Thank you so very much!  To see her other image, please visit my boudoir site and check out my portfolio .  Planning on updating my portfolio over the next several weeks with some of my new work, with permission first from my clients.

This year goal is to reach my boudoir demographic to bigger cities, such as Sacramento and San Fransisco, California. Boudoir is something I really enjoy doing, it is fun getting to play dress up and creating tasteful images that help people see who their own beauty.

I will say this about this beauty, she had her hair/lashes and makeup done by the very talented Nikki Gibson!  Thank you Nikki for always doing such a fantastic job!

So, I was just saying to Jesse that I really should be showing some of my boudoir work I have been creating lately.  In a faux English accent, he said something along the lines of, “Why yes, you should.  And guess what, your clients have been giving you the go ahead.”  Well, that is how I am replaying this particular memory in my head at the moment.  With his enlightening declarative sentence, a light bulb goes off for me…wink wink.  Do a blog post every so often featuring a portrait from one my recent boudoir sessions lately.  And guess what, here one is.  PROOF…I should just listen to my husband more often.

I bet he liked that last sentence.

So, figured I would start off these enticing posts with a fun slow motion blur image I created with a gorgeous woman in my studio the other day.  Thank you “mystery muse” for allowing me to try something fun.  Lately, I have really been enjoying playing with this particular light set up as a piece I offer with my boudoir sessions.  Maybe I will one day post my original photographic inspiration that was actually a mistake as I was getting my light set.  Ended up loving it and doing for most every session now.  Funny how mistakes can turn out making you stronger.

Hair and makeup created by Nikki Gibson, who offers my clients a little something extra!  Thanks so much Nikki for always hooking my people up! 🙂

xoxo,

Jamie

Last of the sets created for the Boudoir collaboration created by myself, Robin Fator of Dark Pony Designs, Nikki Gibson talented makeup and hair stylist, and with the help from Sara came together to create our model, Krystal’s look!  I thought it would be fun to create a few different looks for brides, since right now a big trend for brides is to give their husband to be a little something special on their wedding day!  To see the other bridal set, please check out Something Sweet for yourself.

This set is inspired by luxury and excess.  The pampered bride in her honeymoon boudoir.  The nude Demi bra is embellished in vintage rhinestone appliqués, paired with high waisted ivory briefs, and a handmade ivory mini tutu with sash.  As much fun to wear as it is to take off!  Styled by Robin Fator, shoes and accessories: Designers own lingerie: Dark Pony Designs to shop the collection visit her Etsy shop.

To create this look I used my Elinchrom with a 6ft Soft box with just the modeling light on to cast soft light on my model!  I also used the ambient light in the room created by the crystal filled chandelier, and all the beautiful candles lit by the custom built fire place.

Thank you everybody for your generous efforts to create this Bridal Boudoir scene! Can’t wait to work with all of you soon, can we really call it work??? lol! To view other scenes created please check out The Girly Show8mmParisian Ballet and Something Sweet.

The story.  How many of us look in the mirror and see something special about ourselves…something we need to remember?  Well, I am hear to say that you should tell your story, document your life, remember how gorgeous you really are today.  This is exactly why I love to create boudoir images, for myself and for others.

8mm was a story of a girl creating just that, taking what she sees and documenting it.  From her staring in the mirror, really seeing herself, her beauty.  Putting on her make up, setting up the projector, and being seen.

Mirandi was kind enough to play along with me the other night in the studio!  Thank you so much for being one of my favorite people ever and helping me to create this series of images.  Mirandi styled her own hair and makeup was created by Corissa, who can be located at the makeup counter at Macy’s in the Urban Decay section.   The projector is especially special to me, it belonged to my husband’s grandfather who happened to own a photography studio as well.  Thank you Diane for letting me use the 8mm vintage projector.

Robin Fator of Dark Pony Designs created the lingerie worn by Mirandi.  Robin was inspired by, inspired by vintage vixens and film noir.  This lingerie set is a classic take on a mysterious sexy lady who knows how to use smoke and mirrors to her advantage.  The strapless bustier is lace with handmade satin ruffles on the cups.  The hat is made from vintage red roses and french veil.  The panties are a vintage high waist style that flatter as they shape.  Lingerie and hat by Dark Pony Designs. Shop the look HERE.   For more information contact Robin Fator at darkponydesigns@gmail.com.

This was a fun boudoir shoot for me! Robin Fator had sent me the images of her bridal lingerie creations, and I went from there in the set design to emphasize the pampered bridal look. I wanted the scene to be set in an upscale bridal lingerie boutique, full of bridal magazines {thank you Rebekah}, little sweets, and just a ultra feminine dream bride scene. I also used less dramatic light to create a soft airy feel. Krystal our model has the perfect shape for this look, flawless…  She is always open to new modeling opportunities, be sure to contact her!  Thanks Krystal for letting Nikki Gibson create the bomb shell Victoria Secret model look with your hair and makeup. Sara, one of Krystal’s dearest friends who just happens to be a hair stylist herself over at La Ti Da Styling Lounge, also helped create Krystal’s look. I knew I needed some gorgeous little delicate sweets to complete this set, so I hit up one of my very favorite indulgences local to Redding, CA, The SweetSpot. I have to say that the Irish Car-bomb cupcake is my all time fave, maybe tied with their Strawberry Chocolate cupcake…yum, now I want one or ten!

Another huge shout out goes to Ashely Wagner of The Flower Pot here in Redding, CA for her finishing touch to the prefect bridal shop. Her bouquet was a perfect match to the soft color pallet chosen for Krystal’s look. Ashely creates bridal bouquets amongst many other gorgeous creations. She is going to be doing some flower wreaths for two seniors I get to photograph next month! Thank you Ashley for your beautiful one of a kind contribution to the scene! Later this month I will have an entire post dedicated to Ashely and her creations located on my “Tips for the Bride to Be” on my blog.

Robin Fator, again…love your work, so beautiful. I asked Robin to let my readers know what inspired this creation. Robin said, “I was inspired by the pampered bride on her wedding day this ivory lace bustier is hand embellished with ivory pearls. All wedding fantasies need a little illusion, so I created a sheer veil and flower crown to give Krystal that soft feminine look. Bustier, Flower Crown, and Veil by Dark Pony Designs. Jewelry and Styling by Robin Fator. All lingerie is available HERE or for more info darkponydesigns@gmail.com.”

Nikki Gibson is also available for bridal and boudoir styling, I am fortunate to work with her on a regular basis. I actually refer all my senior girls, brides, and boudoir clients to Nikki! To see some of Nikki’s other work please take a look at my boudoir site! Be sure to contact her for your perfect event!
